Bound to Sing

About the Choir

Bound to Sing is a boys’ choir for boys with unchanged voices. Our mission is to help vocally talented young boys develop their musical and vocal skills, to be a part of a creative musical experience through teamwork, and to learn the joys and rewards of hard work and self-discipline.

In addition to formal concerts, the group performs at community and outreach service events such as nursing homes and festivals.

Spring Concert (tentative)

"This is not just a place where boys learn to sing a pretty song. I attended the first rehearsal expecting, a cute kid choir. But what I witnessed, and have witnessed at every rehearsal since, is an extremely qualified and capable director molding young boys into true musicians. Every week for 90 minutes he works this group of boys into knowledgable and capable singers. He teaches them more than just the words and notes of the songs. He teaches them all aspects of choral music including dynamics, theory, latin, italian, performance, nuance, music appreciation and expression. In addition, he miraculously manages to keep the boys engaged and learning at all times. They never act up because they have no opportunity to do so. One exercise moves seamlessly into another, and the next. In the process the boys learn invaluable lessons in discipline, respect, hard work, and group cooperation."
